Craig Jones arguably holds the world record for coming out of a coma. He doesn’t know how long he’s been under, but he knows that he has been left for dead. Somehow, he believes that it is to his benefit. He is lucky to be alive, sprawled on the cold pavement, barely conscious, and bleeding from the mouth is better than not breathing at all. He feels that if he can get to his feet he’d be okay. He can find a way to flag down someone who’d assist him. As far as he can tell, his legs aren’t broken, he can feel his toes and has movement in his arms, but he quickly discovers that any motion, even breathing, causes him pain. He quickly realizes that a rib bone infiltrating one of his lungs is the cause of his discomfort, limiting his movements.
The irony of the situation is that only a few moments ago his movements were limited in a different manner. The sensitivity of his post-orgasmic ejaculated penis made him plead with his lady for hire to cease her movements while it was lingering in her hot box.
He had ignored those types of messages for years, but the notation of a two-hundred-miles-an-hour club inscribed on the bathroom stall intrigued him. It was his fortieth birthday present to himself; it had been perfect. Speeding around the track at an excessive speed had added a special exhilaration to the explosion when he came. He even felt a little special when his partner washed him after the session, but his excellent start to his birthday celebration turned sour.
He remembers standing outside the vehicle paying for the rendered services, then being blindsided by a punch in the jaw that rocked his equilibrium. Before his weakened knees afforded him the pavement, the next thing he knew he was being lifted into the air at his rib cage in a tremendous bear hug. He recalls how quickly his breath escaped him, followed by the crackling sound of his ribs being crushed within. His own agonizing scream still rings between his ears.
As if that is not enough, he can feel the wetness of fresh blood flowing over the dried gash caused by the collision of his head on the pavement after literally being tossed away.
Still, he feels that if he can get to his feet or even roll over to his back, he stands a chance of living through the pain and suffering.
“And this too shall pass,” he states weakly. “And this too,” he grunts while turning his body over to his back, “shall pass.”
He repeats the statement quickly several times in succession. Upon completing the maneuver, he lies on his back feeling that it is a form of success—short-lived nevertheless. Suddenly, a different kind of pressure begins building within, making him feel as though he is being pumped with air like a balloon. It is virtually impossible to breathe, his chest tightens, expanding to near explosion. Desperately he tries to exhale but only partially succeeds.
